They Emulate the Serpent
by Ronald W Robey

In the garden of Eden, the serpent used the word of God deceitfully, “Yea, hath God said, Thou shalt not eat of every tree of the Garden.”

Today, Pastor’s use the word of God deceitfully, “The tithe is the LORD’s; it is holy unto the LORD.”

The serpent added to the word of God, inserting the words “every tree” to God’s command. Pastor’s add to the word of God, saying “God’s tithe is a tenth of your monetary income.” Pastor’s deceitfully add “money” to God’s tithe command..

They will then tell you that, “God expects you to obey Him in the tithe.”

Tithing money is not “obedience” to God. Rather, it is obedience to a liar. God’s tithe is to come from “the seed of the land; the fruit of the tree; and every tenth animal from the flock or herd to pass under the rod.”

Leviticus 27:30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’S: it is holy unto the LORD.
Leviticus 27:31 And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof.
Leviticus 27:32 And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.
Leviticus 27:33 He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.

Further, the “land” that God’s tithe is to be observed in is speaking of a specific geographical location,… the children of Israel (who were given the tithe command) were not to begin tithing until they took up residence in the land of Canaan. In other words, the command to tithe was centralized,… not global.

Leviticus 27:34 These are the commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Sinai.

Deuteronomy 12:1 These are the statutes and judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which the LORD God of thy fathers giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth.

Deuteronomy 12:10 But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety;
Deuteronomy 12:11 Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:

Just as the serpent beguiled Eve in the garden of Eden, many Pastor’s around the world beguile the members of their flock.  In doing so, they emulate the serpent.
