Whenever I mention the fact that I don’t tithe, someone is sure to reply, “It’s in the Bible!”
Tithing is indeed found in the Bible. I do not dispute that fact at all.
However, we cannot focus on the fact that the tithe ordinance is in the Bible and ignore
a) the commanded ELEMENTS of the tithe;
b) the commanded GIVERS of the tithe;
c) the commanded LOCATION of the tithe;
d) the commanded RECIPIENTS of the tithe;
e) the commanded YEAR of the tithe.
A diligent study of the Bible will reveal to the reader many precious and wonderful truths that are ignored in so many mainstream religious institutions around the world today.
There is no instruction in the entire Bible where God said that one’s monetary income is to be tithed to either Tabernacle, Temple, Synagogue, or Church. Even in the last place in the Bible where tithing is mentioned, (Hebrews 7:5-9) the author avows that the tithes still belong to the sons of Levi, and that the tithes are still “according to the Law”.
Since the author of Hebrews reveals that tithes are still “according to the Law”, it is needful to go to the Books of the Law in order to learn what they say concerning God’s holy tithe. The Law states that God’s holy tithe is
a) agricultural (Lev. 27:30-32; Deut. 12:17;14:22-23,26, 2 Chr. 31:6; Neh. 10:37;12:44:13:12; Mal. 3:10; Matt. 23:23; Lu. 11:42) *Deuteronomy 14:23 says the tithe is to be eaten* Agriculture is eaten, money is not.
b) only required of the children of Israel (Lev. 27:34; Psa. 147:19-20)
c) only to be observed by those living in the land of Canaan (Deut. 12:1,10-11)
d) to be given to Levites, widows, orphans and foreigners; (Deut. 26:12) and even to be eaten by the one bringing the tithe. (Deuteronomy 14:22-26)
e) to be given every third year (Deuteronomy 14:28-29; 26:12)
God NEVER amended the tithe ordinance to say money is now required as tithe. He NEVER amended the tithe ordinance to say tithes are to be given outside of the land of Canaan. He never amended the tithe ordinance to say that the tithe is to be observed every week of the year and every year of a Christian’s life
As a matter of fact, the Bible never says that Christian’s are required to tithe at all..
Pastor’s have handled the word of God deceitfully in order to teach a tithe command that is totally foreign to the word of God, i.e.; a tithe of man’s monetary income,… a tithe of unrighteous mammon.
Matthew 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Attempting to obey God’s tithe ordinance, without obeying all of the commandments written in that ordinance merits a curse, not favor.
Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

The Elements of the Stolen Tithe
by Ronald W Robey
The elements of the tithe mentioned in Malachi 3 are easily explained when one takes into consideration what is written in Luke 16:16.
Luke 16:16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.
“The Law and the Prophets were until John.”
This means that, when Malachi addressed the stolen tithes, he had to have been speaking of the tithe that the Law demanded. Malachi existed 460 years before Luke 16, and was therefore bound by the Mosaic/Levitic Law just as the rest of Israel was.
That fact established, what was the tithe required by the Mosaic/Levitic Law?
Leviticus 27:30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’S: it is holy unto the LORD.
Leviticus 27:31 And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof.
Leviticus 27:32 And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.
Leviticus 27:33 He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.
According to Leviticus 27:30-33, God’s holy tithe was to come from agricultural crops, flocks and herds. Therefore, Malachi could not have been speaking of any other tithe than the agricultural tithe required by Law.
Had Malachi been speaking of anything other than agricultural crops, flocks and herds, he would have been telling Priest’s of the Temple (it was the Priest’s that had stolen the tithe) to transgress the Law. Transgression of the Law is sin, according to John’s epistle.
1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Malachi would not have told anyone to tithe their money. He would not have encouraged the transgression of the Law in order to correct a transgression of the Law.
I trust that the above helps to bring light and truth and clears up any misconceptions that readers may have concerning what tithe Malachi was referring to.

No Biblical Record
by Ronald W Robey
Seeing that there is no biblical record of Abram having ever given a tithe of his monetary income to any Tabernacle, Temple, Synagogue or Church; and
Seeing that there is no biblical record of Abram having ever given a tithe of his monetary income to any priestly representative of God; and
Seeing that there is no biblical record of either Jesus, or any of His Apostle’s having ever given a tithe of their monetary income to any Tabernacle, Temple, Synagogue or Church; and
Seeing that there is no biblical record of either Jesus, or any of His Apostles having ever given a tithe of their monetary income to any priestly representative of God; and
Seeing that there is no biblical command, or instruction, for the saved in Christ Jesus to tithe their monetary income to Tabernacle, Temple, Synagogue or Church; and
Seeing that there is no biblical command, or instruction, for the saved in Christ Jesus to give a tithe of their monetary income to a priestly representative of God; I do hereby attest and affirm before both God and man, that
Those who teach a monetary tithe requirement doctrine of the saved in Christ Jesus are teaching contrary to what is written in the word of God.

No Value in Lies
by Ronald W Robey
(written June 21, 2017)
What “value” is in bowing to lies?
God said His holy tithe is agricultural; pastors preach that it is money. Are pastors more knowledgeable than God? Is the pastor’s word to be “valued” more than the word of God? or, do pastor’s now imitate the serpent in the Garden who said, “Yea, hath God said,…?”
Matthew 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
It is vain to for a pastor to worship the living God when that pastor teaches man-made commandments, telling his congregation that they are a God-ordained directive. God doesn’t accept that pastor’s worship.
Remember Jesus words in Matthew 7:21-23?
Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Pastors may think that teaching a command that is nowhere found in Scripture is doing a service for God,… however, it is not.
The monetary tithe requirement is extortion. It is ¹“The obtaining of property from another, with his consent, induced by wrongful use of actual or threatened force, violence, or fear, or under color of official right.”
Pastor’s would do well to read 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, paying special attention to the part that says that extortioner’s will not inherit the Kingdom of God. They would do well to reflect on Revelation 21:8, which informs us that all liars will have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone.
There is no “value” in preaching lies.
Pastor’s have no right to preach the monetary tithe requirement. They are supposed to preach the word, (2 Timothy 4:2) not a doctrine that is totally foreign to, and contradicts, the word of God.
And the members of the congregation should be studying the word, (2 Timothy 2:15) if they truly love God and want to be approved of God as workmen that need not be ashamed. If they would take time to study the word, they will be less likely to fall prey to ravenous wolves leading them astray.

Will a man bribe God? Yet, you have bribed Him.
Monetary tithing is a criminal act against the God of Heaven and against the cross of Christ.
