It Hasn’t Changed
by Ronald W Robey
According to the Bible, God said that tithes were to be
a) taken from specific elements, i.e.; agricultural crops, flocks and herds… not money. (Leviticus 27:30-33)
b) observed by a specific people, i.e.; the children of Israel (Leviticus 27:30-34)
c) observed in a specific geographical location, i.e.; the Promised Land Canaan (Deuteronomy 12:1,10-11)
d) given to a specific people, i.e.; Levites, widows, orphans, foreigners in the land of Canaan. (Deuteronomy 26:12)
e) not to be taken to the House of God…unless taken there by the appointed Staff of the House of God. (in which case, it is to be a tithe of a tithe taken to the House of God… not ten percent, but one percent of Israel’s total agricultural increase) (Nehemiah 10:37-38)
Nothing in New Testament texts states, or even suggests,
a) taken from money instead of from agricultural crops, flocks and herds
b) observed by Christians instead of by unsaved Jews
c) observed worldwide instead of in the Promised Land only
d) given to Pastors of Gentile churches instead of to Levitic Priests
e) to be taken to a building commonly referred to as a “church” by the congregation instead of to farming communities.
Pastors who use the word of God to teach a monetary tithe requirement doctrine are guilty of handling the word of God deceitfully.
Don’t be deceived. God’s word is for ever settled in Heaven. It hasn’t changed.
