An Overlooked Connection
by Ronald W Robey

Leviticus 27:30 says, And all the tithe of the “land” is the LORD’s. It is holy unto the LORD..

The saved of God need to realize that the “land” God was speaking of in Leviticus 27:30 is not worldwide…Deuteronomy 12:1-11 reveals that God was speaking of the land of Canaan.

Also, the word “holy” is not in Leviticus 27:30 by accident.

The word “holy” means “set apart”.

Why was the tithe of the land of Canaan “set apart”?

Because Jacob had vowed to give God a tenth of the land that God promised in Genesis 28:12-15 back to God.

Leviticus 27:30 is connected to Genesis 28:12-15,20-22. It is also connected to Deuteronomy 12:1-11.

The tithe was restricted to the citizens of the land of Canaan due to Jacob’s vow. Once Jacob’s descendants crossed the river Jordan and entered Canaan to live there…then there would be a place to observe God’s tithe ordinance.
