“Unfaithful” Tithers
by Ronald W Robey

The Pastor says, “God’s tithe is to come from one-tenth of your monetary income.”

God’s word says that His tithe is to come from agricultural crops, flocks and herds. (Leviticus 27:30-33)

The Pastor says, “Every Christian in the world is required to give God His tithe.”

God’s word says that His tithe is only to be observed by citizens of the land of Canaan. (Deuteronomy 12:1,10-11)

The Pastor says, “The congregation is to bring God’s tithe to the local Church they attend.”

God’s word says that the congregation is to take their tithes to farming communities in Canaan, not to a Church. (Nehemiah 10:37-38)

The Pastor says, “You are robbing God if you don’t bring His tithe into the House of God.”

God’s word says that only the Levitec tribe in Canaan could tithe to the House of God. (Nehemiah 10:37-38)

The Pastor says, “As God’s duly appointed Minister, I have authority to take tithes of the congregation.”

God’s word says that the bloodline descendants of Levi, widows, orphans and strangers in the land of Canaan are the only ones authorized to take His tithe. (Numbers 18:21-26; Deuteronomy 26:12; Hebrews 7:5-9)

The Pastor announces each week before the Sunday Morning Sermon, “It’s time to give God His tithes and offerings.”

God’s word says that the Ministers of God are only to take tithes every third year…not every week. ((Deuteronomy 26:12)

As we can see, the “faithful” tither is faithful his or her Pastor, but not to God.

Often, “faithful” tithers are forced to neglect a payment to their creditors. They might have been able to pay that monthly debt, but they have to be faithful to their Pastors instead.

Often, vehicle maintenance is neglected. They might have kept the vehicle in perfect running order…but they had to be faithful to their Pastors instead.

Often, meals are missed; needed medications are not purchased; home repairs are not done…all because they are faithful to their Pastors instead.

Often, on the way to Sunday Morning Service, one will neglect that poor person on the street or in the community…but will be faithful to the Pastor instead.

1 John 3:17 But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels [of compassion] from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

Proverbs 29:7 ¶ The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: [but] the wicked regardeth not to know [it].

“Faithful” tithers appear to be faithful to the their deceitful Pastor’s, but are unfaithful in the things of God.
