Don’t Argue with the Bible!
by Ronald W Robey

When teaching the topic of tithing, many Pastors will advise their congregations, , “Don’t argue with the Bible”. This is very wise advice indeed! No one should argue with the Bible.

If only these same Pastors would heed their own advice.

Pastor, are you aware that EVERY TIME that you preach a monetary tithe requirement, you are doing exactly what you advise your congregations not to do?

You are arguing with the Bible.

How can I say this? Because, while the Bible does reveal a tithe ordinance, it also reveals several commands attached to that ordinance. For instance…

Leviticus 27:30-33 says that God’s tithe is to be agriculture. Every time you preach a money tithe, you argue against Leviticus 27:30-33.

Numbers 18:21 states that the tithe of the land belongs to Levite’s. Every time you preach that Nigerian Pastors can take tithes, you argue against Numbers 18:21.

Deuteronomy 12:1,10-11 states that tithes are to be taken to a location in the land of Canaan. (2 Chronicles 6:5 later reveals that place to be Jerusalem) Every time you preach that tithes are to be observed in any geographical location other than the land of Canaan, you argue against Deuteronomy 12:1,10-11 & 2 Chronicles 6:5.

Deuteronomy 26:12 states that the tithe is to be given the third year. Every time you call for people to give tithes each Sunday morning, you argue against Deuteronomy 26:12.

Given the Scriptural facts concerning the observance of God’s tithe ordinance, every time you preach contrary to those Scriptures, you are entering a debate in which you not only argue against the Word of God…you also are opposing the God of the word.
