Don’t Overlook the Facts!

When you say, “I tithe because God gave us the ordinance of tithing,” you are telling people that you obey Gods tithe ordinance. But is that true? Are you really obeying Gods tithe ordinance? or, have you been bewitched by religion into believing that you are obeying Gods tithe ordinance, when in actuality you are not?

Let’s examine a few of the Scriptures in Gods tithe ordinance, shall we?

1. God said His tithe is to be agricultural. One is not honoring God’s tithe ordinance by tithing money. One is rebelling against God’s ordinance.

Leviticus 27:30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the SEED OF THE LAND, or of the FRUIT OF THE TREE, is the LORD’S: it is holy unto the LORD.

31 And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof.

32 And concerning the tithe OF THE HERD, or OF THE FLOCK, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.

33 He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.

2. God said His tithe is to be observed only when living in the land of Canaan. One is not honoring God’s tithe ordinance by tithing outside of the land of Canaan. One is rebelling against God’s ordinance.

Deuteronomy 12:10 But WHEN YE GO OVER JORDAN, and DWELL IN THE LAND WHICH THE LORD YOUR GOD GIVETH YOU TO INHERIT, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety;

11 THEN THERE SHALL BE A PLACE which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there;THITHER SHALL YE BRING ALL THAT I COMMANDED YOU; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, YOUR TITHES, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:

3. God said the tithe is to be given to bloodline descendants of the biblical patriarch Levi. One is not honoring God’s tithe ordinance by giving His tithe to non Levitic Pastors in church buildings outside of Canaan. One is rebelling against God’s ordinance.

Numbers 18:21-22 And, behold, I HAVE GIVEN THE CHILDREN OF LEVI ALL THE TENTH IN ISRAEL for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. Neither must the children of Israel henceforth come nigh the tabernacle of the congregation, lest they bear sin, and die.

4. God said the congregation is not to take tithes to the House of God. A member of the congregation is not honoring God’s tithe ordinance when he tithes at the House of God.

As you can see, I have not “twisted” the word at all. I copied and pasted the verses exactly as they are written in the Bible. I then capitalized the facts that religion programs people to overlook, in hopes that the capitalized words will resonate in your conscience and cause you to realize exactly what God said concerning the manner in which His holy tithe is to be observed.

Religion has its members so blinded to what the Bible clearly says,, that they don’t even realize that they have been blinded. However, if one will take time to study these verses, and is hungry for truth, one will realize that God never commanded him/her to tithe at all.

The pattern that God wants us to emulate in our giving can be found in the following verses in the New Covenant Epistles…

2 Corinthians 8:12 For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

13 For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:

2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

The above verses out of Paul’s Second Epistle to the Church at Corinth tell us:

1. Our giving should be such that we give out of our love for God. A perfect example of people giving out of love can be seen in Acts of the Apostles 4:32-37. The members of the early church saw needs in their own community…and they wanted to help meet those needs.

They were not forced to sell land and property. They did so out of their love for God. They then placed the money at the feet of the Apostles, and the Apostles distributed the money as needed.

The example in Acts 4 shows me that, if there are several people in need, money can be given to a man of God to govern how the money is to be distributed. Notice I said “CAN BE”…I did not say “MUST BE”.

If you see someone in need and have the means to help that person, you do not have to go looking for a middleman to handle your affairs in the matter. Go to the person in need yourself and help them.

Proverbs 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

2. Our giving should never be forced, as in the case of a mandatory tithe requirement system.

3. Our giving should not be such that others have their needs met, but we are left to worry where we are going to get the money to meet our own needs.

Be aware of the people around you. Be aware of their hurts and their needs. And if you are able to help them…do so with a cheerful and willing heart. God will be pleased.
