To Blazes with God’s Word!
by Ronald W Robey

“To blazes with God’s word!”

The above statement is a statement that one would expect from the mouth of an atheist, but never from the mouth of a member of the Body of Christ. And certainly not from one who has “answered the call to go into the Gospel Ministry.”

However, many who sit in the pews of a religious institution on Sunday Mornings, and many who stand behind a pulpit to deliver a sermon in those same religious institutions, may just as well make such statements when they are already demonstrating that they don’t care what God’s word says.

Many times, a sermon is delivered from the pulpit that is in perfect agreement with God’s word. And yet, though “amens” may be heard from the congregation, many go home that Sunday and the following day act as if the sermon meant nothing to them whatsoever.

Many times, a sermon is delivered from the pulpit that totally contradicts what the word of God actually says. Sadly, many in the audience will “amen” such a sermon, demonstrating their lack of knowledge of what the word of God actually says.

Permit me to give just a few examples…

Leviticus 27:30-33 states that His tithe is to come from agricultural crops, flocks, and herds. Many pastors teach that God’s tithe is to come from money.

Deuteronomy 12:10-11 states that God’s tithe it is to be observed only after entering the land of Canaan and finding rest from enemies. Many pastors teach that God’s tithe is to be observed worldwide.

Deuteronomy 26:12 states that God’s tithe is to be given every third year. Many pastors teach that God’s tithe is to be given every week.

No, Pastors and parishioners don’t audibly say, “To blazes with God’s word,” but their denial of biblical truth and embracing of lies demonstrates that their hearts do indeed reject the word of God and instead embrace lies spoken by man.
