Misuse and Abuse
by Ronald W Robey
(written December 07, 2018)

In Malachi 3:7, Malachi is calling for a return to the ordinances. The ordinances have a few instructions that prove that pastors today are misusing Malachi 3:10 and abusing their congregations when they do so.

The ordinances of God concerning tithes:

1. Tithes are to be agricultural.

Leviticus 27:30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’S: it is holy unto the LORD.
Leviticus 27:31 And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof.
Leviticus 27:32 And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.
Leviticus 27:33 He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.

2. The command to tithe was given to the children of Israel.

Leviticus 27:34 These are the commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Sinai.

3. God’s tithe is to be given to bloodline descendants of the biblical patriarch Levi.

Numbers 18:21 And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Numbers 18:22 Neither must the children of Israel henceforth come nigh the tabernacle of the congregation, lest they bear sin, and die.
Numbers 18:23 But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance.
Numbers 18:24 But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.
Numbers 18:25 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Numbers 18:26 Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.

4. God’s tithe is not to be observed anywhere but the land of Canaan.

Deuteronomy 12:10 But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety;
Deuteronomy 12:11 Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:

5. A tithe is to be eaten in Jerusalem annually.

Deuteronomy 14:22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
Deuteronomy 14:23 And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.
Deuteronomy 14:24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:
Deuteronomy 14:25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:
Deuteronomy 14:26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,
Deuteronomy 14:27 And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.

2 Chronicles 6:5 Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people Israel:
2 Chronicles 6:6 But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.

6. Every third year, a tithe is to be given to the bloodline descendants of the patriarch Levi, to widows, to orphans, and to foreigners in the land of Canaan.

Deuteronomy 14:28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
Deuteronomy 14:29 And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.

Deuteronomy 26:12 When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled;

7. The congregation is not to tithe to the House of God.

Nehemiah 10:37 And that we should bring the firstfruits of our dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine and of oil, unto the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and the tithes of our ground unto the Levites, that the same Levites might have the tithes in all the cities of our tillage.
Nehemiah 10:38 And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house.

Knowing the ordinances concerning tithing, it is clear that the prophet Malachi was not saying

a) to tithe money

b) that people who are not Jews are to tithe to the House of God.

c) that pastors living outside of Canaan are God’s official Tithe Collection Representatives

d) That churches living outside of Canaan are God’s official Tithe Collection Centers.

Therefore, it is clear that many pastors today are handling the word of God deceitfully when they teach a monetary tithe requirement to their congregations.

2 Corinthians 4:1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
2 Corinthians 4:2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

So then, who is Malachi speaking to in Malachi 3:10?

Malachi 1:6 A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?
Malachi 1:7 Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible.

Malachi 2:1 And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you.
Equally True

Many teachers of the monetary tithe requirement doctrine will reference Matthew 5:17, saying that “Jesus Himself said He did not come to destroy the Law. Therefore, tithing is still required.”

While it is true that during the time that Jesus was walking this Earth, He did not destroy the tithe, it is equally true that Jesus did not change the source of the tithe either.

A diligent study of God’s commanded tithe will reveal that His holy tithe was to come from agricultural crops and livestock in the Promised Land. (see Lev. 27:30-33; Deut. 12:1,10-11) He NEVER commanded anyone in the Bible to tithe their monetary income.

And neither did Jesus Christ. Jesus told the scribes and Pharisees that they were tithing mint, anise, rue, cummin, all manner of herbs, i.e.; agricultural crops,… exactly what His Father commanded almost 1,450 years earlier. And Jesus said they ought to be doing tithing what the Law required.

Neither God, nor Jesus, ever told anyone in the Bible to tithe their monetary income to Tabernacle, Temple, Synagogue or Church.

Monetary tithing exists because of lies from the pulpits and ignorance in the pews. Ravenous wolves are handling the word of God deceitfully, manipulating the Scriptures in order to extort money from people that God never authorized them to receive

Minsters are exhorted to “Preach the word”, not their opinion. When they teach requirements that are nowhere to be found in the word of God, they worship God in vain.

Matthew 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the

(Deuteronomy 14:28-29; 26:12)

It is clear that many pastors today handle the word of God deceitfully and manipulate the congregation into turning their eyes and their ears away from God’s truth when it comes to the doctrine of God’s holy tithe.

Do you sit under these deceitful pastors? Is the god they preach a god that requires you to tithe? If so, flee that den of iniquity.

They are more interested in your money than your soul. Otherwise, they would not be lying to you

The fact is, if every person who drinks ‘a glass of wine” were to be completely honest, they would admit that the very first glass of wine they ever drank made them drunk to some degree; whether just light–headed, nauseous, or full blown-out falling down drunk.

Alcohol is called an intoxicant for a reason….because it intoxicates.

Now, here’s the thing…

It has been proven in the medical field that beverage alcohol kills brain cells. So, maybe that’s why the “one glass of wine won’t hurt” proponents don’t realize the one glass of wine has intoxicated them…it’s killed the cells that tell their mind that they are drunk.

Proverbs 20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

Proverbs 23:31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright.
Proverbs 23:32 At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.

The Commanded Tithes in the Bible
by Ronald W Robey
(written December 01, 2018)

There were four commanded tithes in the Bible…five, if you include the tithe to the king…

1. Levitic Tithe – This is an annual agricultural tithe (linked to Jacob’s vow in Genesis 28:20-22) that the children of Israel, aka the congregation, were to give to the bloodline diescendants Levitic tribe in the land of Canaan/Israel. An Aaronic Priest had to be present at the time this tithe was given to the bloodline descendants of the Levitic tribe. (see Numbers 18:21-26; Nehemiah 10:37-38)

2. Reverence Tithe – This is an annual agricultural tithe that was to be taken to Jerusalem and eaten there with family and servants from the household of the one with the tithe. Bloodline descendants of the Levitic tribe also eat of this tithe. (see Deuteronomy 14:22-27)

3. Charity Tithe – This is a tri-annual agricultural tithe that is kept in the farming communities in Canaan/Israel and distributed to the Levites, widows, orphans, and foreigners. (see Deuteronomy 14:28-29; 26:12)

4. Temple Tithe – This annual tithe of an agricultural tithe is the only tithe that is taken to the House of God in Canaan/Israel. It is only taken there by bloodline descendants of the Levitic tribe in Canaan/Israel. (see Numbers 18:21-28; Nehemiah 10:37-38)

5. Kings Tithe – This tithe was to be given to the earthly king that Israel chose over God to rule over them. (see 1 Samuel 8:7-18)

Bonus:

The instruction found in Malachi 3:7-10 is not for the congregation…it is for the Aaronic Priests to obey. (see Malachi 2:1) God was calling for a return to His ordinances, and…according to His ordinance of tithing, the children of Israel, aka the congregation, were forbidden to tithe directly to the House of God. (see Numbers 18:21-23; Nehemiah 10:37-38)

Yea, Hath God Said?
by Ronald W Robey
(written December 01, 2017)

Just as the devil used a serpent to twist God’s word in Genesis 3 nearly 6,000 years ago to deceive the first woman, the devil uses preachers today to twist God’s word in Malachi 3 to deceive many.

A little more than six thousand years ago, the devil said, “Yea, hath God said, ‘Thou shalt not eat of every tree in the garden’?”

Today, the devil says, “Yea, hath God said, ‘Will a man Rob God? Yet, ye have robbed Me’.”

The rebuke found in Malachi 3:8 was spoken to corrupt Priests in 430 BC. They had stolen tithes that had been brought to the Temple storehouse by the Levites. (see Nehemiah 10:37-38) Those tithes were agricultural…not monetary. (see Leviticus 27:30-33)

Yet, the devil has deceived many people into believing that Malachi is speaking directly to an entirely different people altogether. The devil has many people believing that Malachi is speaking to the Body of Believers in Christ Jesus.

God’s adversary, (and ours) uses deceitful preachers to beguile people and bewitch them into turning their eyes and ears away from the truth. These people who believe the deceitful preachers are putting their trust in man, not in God…which is exactly what the devil wants people to do.

In Leviticus 27:30-33, God said that the tithe that was to be set apart for Him was to be, “the seed of the land; the fruit of the tree; and, every tenth animal to pass under the rod.” Deuteronomy 14 states that the tithe is to be eaten…to be EATEN. Since God said that God’s commanded tithes are to be eaten, this can only mean that God’s commanded tithes were food….not money.

Folks, after reading every verse in the Bible that mentions the elements of the tithe, (there are only fourteen) only the deceived and the deceiver would deny that God’s commanded tithe is agricultural…only a fool would believe that the tithe God commanded in the Bible is money.
