You Are Obeying Man…Not God!

You say you tithe your money to the church despite needs staring you in the face that week? You try to reason that the needs that are there in front of you are just the devil trying to block you from tithing your money. But, did you ever stop to consider that it might not be the devil attempting to block you from tithing? Could you possibly consider that it might be God trying to prevent you from being robbed?

God’s word is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice. Yet so many don’t even know what the word of God says about His holy tithe. They only know what their pastors feed them from the pulpits..

You see,

a) God said in His word that tithes are to be agricultural. (Lev. 27:30-33)

b) God said in His word that tithes are not to be observed until crossing Jordan and entering the land of Canaan to live there. (Deut. 12:1,10-11)

c) God said in His word that tithes are to be given to Levites, widows, orphans, and foreigners in the land of Canaan, (Deut. 26:12) and even to be eaten by the one required to observe the tithe ordinance. (Deut. 14:22-26)

d) God said in His word that the congregation is not to approach the House of God with tithes. (Num. 18:21-22; Neh. 10:37-38)

In the last place tithing is seen commanded in the Bible, (Heb. 7:5-9) the tithes are still “according to the Law,” and still to be given to the bloodline descendants of the biblical patriarch Levi.

1. It is man that says God’s tithe is monetary.

2. It is man that says to tithe at your local church wherever your church is located in the world.

3. It is man who says pastor’s who are not bloodline descendants of the biblical patriarch Levi can take tithes.

4. It is man who says the congregation is to take tithes to the House of God.

The Bible never authorized the man-made doctrine of a monetary tithe requirement.

When we believe man’s claim of a monetary tithe requirement, we are placing man’s word as being more authoritative than Gods’.

That is idolatry. It will cause one to miss Heaven if one fails to repent.

Questions to ponder:

a) How can one be “obedient to God in tithing,” when one is tithing money instead of agriculture? (Lev. 27:30-33)

b) How can one be “obedient to God in tithing,” when one is tithing another geographical location than the land of Canaan? (Deut. 6:1-3; 12:1,10-11)

c) How can one be “obedient to God in tithing,” when one is tithing to Pastors who are not bloodline descendants of the biblical patriarch Levi? (Num. 18:24-26; Deut. 14:28-29; Heb. 7:5)

d) How can one be “obedient to God in tithing,” when one is not emulating the tithing practices of a single biblical character?

e) How is one “obedient to God’s command to tithe” in Malachi 3:10, when one is putting money in an envelope labeled “TITHE” instead of putting agricultural seeds in the envelope?

f) How is one “obedient to God’s command to tithe” in Numbers 18:21-22, when he is tithing to the House of God after God said he is not to approach the House of God with tithes?

1) Abram’s tithe in 1913 BC – war spoils
2) Children of Israels’ tithes from 1410 BC to AD 70 – agricultural increase

Tell me, “obedient” tither,… just who are you obedient to when Gods word reveals a different required tithe than that which you are passing as tithe?

Sadly, many church members who read this article will not be as the noble Bereans of the first century A.D.. They will reject this message without searching the Scriptures to see if it is so.

Jeremiah 17:5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
