Putting God First
by Ronald W Robey
(written September 12, 2018)
If a person living in the United States of America is placing ten percent of his money into the collection plate as it is passed in front of him on Sunday morning, believing it to be “God’s tithe,” then he is putting his pastor first…not God.
Leviticus 27:30-33 states that God’s tithe is to be agricultural.
The pastor says God’s tithe is money.
Deuteronomy 12:10-11 states that God’s tithe is not to be observed until you are living in the land of Canaan as a citizen.
Pastor says tithes are to be observed in the United States of America.
Numbers 18:21-23 states that God’s tithe is to be given to the biblical patriarch Levi and to his bloodline descendants.
Pastor says he is God’s authorized tithe collection representative.
Numbers 18:21-23 & Nehemiah 10:37-38 state that the congregation is not to tithe directly to the House of God.
Pastor says that the congregation is to tithe to the House of God.
Deuteronomy 26:12 states that the congregation is to give the tithe the third year.
Pastor says the tithe is to be given every week.
Malachi 3:10 is not speaking of a monetary tithe. Nor is it saying to
tithe to a church in the United States of America…it is speaking of
the agricultural tithe required by Law.
It is clear that, in
the matter of tithes, God is not “first”…the pastor is. It is the
pastor’s word that people are yielding to…not God’s.
Jeremiah
17:5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and
maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

Are You Trusting Christ…or Self?
by Ronald W Robey
(written July 26, 2019)
There are so many today who are focusing on the wrong things. They
mistakenly believe they must keep the commandments found in Exodus 20.
They do not have to keep the commandments…they only need to trust Christ.
When your focus is on not stealing, not committing adultery, not
killing, or not coveting…your focus is not on Christ. It is on your
own ability.
If your focus is on Christ, stealing, committing adultery, killing, and coveting will not rule your heart. Christ will.
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Obedience Pleases God…Not Disobedience
by Ronald W Robey
(written July 22, 2019)
Argumet: “In the Bible, God commanded tithes, and He is pleased when we tithe.”
Rebuttal: “How is giving ten percent of one’s monetary income in
response to the command to tithe agricultural crops pleasing God?
Throughout the Bible, when one did not obey God God cursed him; God
sent famine to their land; God sent locusts to attack what little did
grow; God even killed some because of their disobedience.
Reckon He was real pleased, right?
An example of pleasing God would be eating a tithe annually in
Jerusalem as He commanded. Another example would be giving your tithes
to Levites, widows, orphans, and foreigners every third year as He
commanded.
Don’t kid yourself. Acts of disobedience do not please God.

Rights Revoked!
by Ronald W Robey
(written July 21, 2019)
Hebrews 7:5 And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:
Hebrews 7:18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
The commandment to take tithes (see Hebrews 7:5 above) was done away with because it was weak and unprofitable. (see Hebrews 7:18 above) Any God-given rights that a person may have had to take tithes on behalf of God have been revoked.
Not one verse in the Bible from Hebrews
7:19-Revelation 22:21 say that the command to take tithes was reissued.
Pastors have no directive from God to take tithes of the members of
their congregations. They may claim that they have “official right” to
take tithes, but according to the word of God…
…they do not.

Blinded!
by Ronald W Robey
(written July 21, 2019)
Proverbs 3:9-10 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
Not only does Proverbs 3:9-10 say nothing about curses for not tithing…
…it doesn’t even mention the word “tithe” in it at all.
Proverbs 3:9 says “honour the LORD“. It does not say “tithe”to the LORD.”
There is a difference.
And, since Leviticus 27:30-33 is clear that the tithe of the land was
to be agricultural crops, flocks, and herds, Proverbs 3:9-10 can not be
saying to tithe money.
God’s commanded tithe was to come from
agricultural crops, flocks, and herds. But religion has blinded the
minds and hearts of so many to believe that Proverbs is saying to tithe
your monetary income.

Malachi Proves Them Wrong
by Ronald W Robey
(written July 21, 2019)
So
many want to say that Malachi 3:8-10 is instruction to bring the tithe.
However, let’s not forget Malachi 3:7, which says…return to God’s
ordinances
So, what are the commands that God has given in His ordinance of tithing?
1. Move to the land of Canaan before beginning to tithe. De. 12:10-11
2. Tithe agricultural crops, flocks, and herds. Le. 27:30-33
3. Give tithes to the Levitic tribe in the land of Canaan. Nu. 18:21-26
4. If you are a member of the congregation, don’t approach the House of God with tithes. Nu. 18:21-22; Ne. 10:37-38
Given the fact that Malachi 3:7 says to return to God’s ordinances,
a)
Malachi cannot be telling people all over the world to tithe. He
would not call for a return to the ordinances in verse 7 and then turn
around and tell people all over the world to transgress the ordinances
in verse 10. (see #1 above)
b) Malachi cannot be
speaking of money in 3:10. He would not tell anyone to return to the
ordinances in verse 7 and then turn around and tell them to transgress
the ordinances in verse 10. (see #2 above)
c)
Malachi cannot be telling people to give tithes to pastors who are not
descendants of the patriarch Levi. He would not tell anyone to return
to the ordinances in verse 7 and then turn around and tell them to
transgress the ordinances in verse 10. (see #3 above)
d)
Malachi cannot be telling the congregation to tithe in 3:10. He would
not tell the congregation to return to the ordinances in verse 7 and
then turn around and tell them to transgress the ordinances in verse 10.
(see #4 above)
Proper exegesis of Malachi 3:7-10
reveals that many pastors are handling the word of God deceitfully when
they teach that Malachi is speaking of churches around the world being
God’s Tithe Collection Agency.
2 Corinthians 4:1-2 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

Guilty of All
by Ronald W Robey
(written July 20, 2019)
James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
The apostle James said that to offend in one point of the Law is to be
guilty of all the Law. So, do today’s “tithers” offend in any point of
the Law? Let’s find out, shall we?
a) One of the first points established in the ordinance of tithing is the fact that God’s tithe is to be agricultural.
Leviticus 27:30-33 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’S: it is holy unto the LORD. And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof. And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD. He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed. Leviticus 27:33 He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.
God said the agricultural tithe had to be given. After the crops tithe
had been given, the one who gave the tithe had the option of buying a
portion of the tithe he had given back.
Therefore, if one is
giving ten percent of one’s money and not ten percent of agricultural
increase…one has offended in one point of the Law concerning God’s
commanded tithe. He is therefore guilty of all.
b) God also said
that tithing was not to begin until crossing the river Jordan, entering
Canaan to live there, and finding rest from enemies.
Deuteronomy 12:10-11 But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety; Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:
Therefore, if one is tithing, but has not become a citizen
of Canaan yet…one has offended in one point of the Law concerning
God’s commanded tithe. He is therefore guilty of all.
c) God also
said that the Levite, (bloodline descendant of the biblical patriarch
Levi) is the only one who is to tithe to the House of God.
Nehemiah 10:37-38 And that we should bring the firstfruits of our dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine and of oil, unto the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and the tithes of our ground unto the Levites, that the same Levites might have the tithes in all the cities of our tillage. And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house.
Therefore, if one
is taking tithes to the House of God, but is not a Levite…one is
offending in one point of the Law. He is therefore guilty of all.
d) God also said that an Aaronic Priest (a Priest born in the lineage of Aaron) must be present at the time tithes are given.
Therefore, if one is giving tithes, but an Aaronic Priest is
present…he is offending in one point of the Law. He is therefore
guilty of all.
Tithers may not realize it, but they are guilty of
disobedience to God rather than obedience. For they offend in more than
one point of the Law that governs the observance of God’s tithe and are
therefore…
…GUILTY OF ALL.

When Pastors Preach Tithing
by Ronald W Robey
(written July 20, 2019)
When pastors preach tithing, I listen carefully to their sermon to see
if the pastors sermon is in agreement with the Bible on tithing.
When the Bible makes known to the reader the elements of God’s commanded tithe, the tithe is revealed to be food…not money..
When the Bible makes known to the reader the givers of God’s commanded
tithe, the givers are to be the children of Israel and the Levites…not
the New Covenant Body of Believers in Christ Jesus.
When the
Bible makes known to the reader the recipients of God’s commanded tithe,
it is bloodline descendants of Levi, widows, orphans, and foreigners
who are supposed to receive tithes…not pastors in the New Covenant
church.
When the Bible makes known to the reader the geographic
location that God’s commanded tithe is to be observed, it is the land of
Canaan that tithes are to be observed…not in churches around the
world.
When the Bible makes known to the reader the times that
the giving of tithes is to be observed, annually or every third year are
the only options given. God does not say that tithes are to be given
weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.
When the pastors sermon on tithing
contradicts the word of God, I reject that pastor’s sermon. When the
pastor’s sermon contradicts the word of God, you should reject the
pastor’s sermon as well. God’s word is truth. The pastor’s sermon…is
not.
2 Corinthians 4:1-2 Therefore seeing we have this
ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced
the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling
the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth
commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

He’s Lying
by Ronald W Robey
(written July 20, 2019)
1. If your pastor tells you that God requires you to tithe, he’s
lying. God commanded the children of Israel to tithe…not the saved in
Christ.
Leviticus 27:30-34 And all the tithe of the land,
whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the
LORD’S: it is holy unto the LORD. And if a man will at all redeem ought
of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof. And
concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever
passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD. He shall
not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if
he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy;
it shall not be redeemed. These are the commandments, which the LORD
commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Sinai.
2. If
your preacher tells you that God requires you to give Him ten percent
of your monetary wages, he’s lying. God’s commanded tithe is
agricultural…not monetary.
God’s commanded tithe is
a) seed of the land. (Le. 27:30)
b) fruit of the tree. (Le. 27:30)
c) every tenth animal to pass under the rod. (Le 27:32)
d) corn. (De. 12:17)
e) wine. (De. 12:17)
f) oil. (De. 12:17)
g) seed. (De. 14:22)
h) corn. (De. 14:23)
i) wine. (De.14:23)
j) oil. (De.14:23)
k) oxen. (De. 14:26)
l) sheep. (De. 14:26)
m) wine. (De. 14:26)
n) strong drink. (De. 14:26)
o) oxen. (2 Ch. 31:6)
p) sheep. (2 Ch. 31:6)
q) tithes of our ground. (Ne. 10:37)
r) tithes out of the fields. (Ne. 12:44)
s) corn. (Ne. 13:5)
t) wine. (Ne. 13:5)
u) oil. (Ne. 13:5)
v) corn. (Ne. 13:12)
w) wine. (Ne. 13:12)
x) oil. (Ne. 13:12)
y) food. (Mal. 3:10)
z) mint. (Matt. 23:23)
aa) anise. (Matt. 23:23)
ab) cummin. (Matt. 23:23)
ac) mint. (Lu. 11:42)
ad) rue. (Lu. 11:42)
ae) herbs. (Lu. 11:42)
3. If your pastor tells you that God requires people all around the
world to tithe, he’s lying. God restricted the observance of His tithe
command to the land of Canaan.
Deuteronomy 12:10-11 But when ye
go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you
to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round
about, so that ye dwell in safety; Then there shall be a place which the
LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither
shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your
sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all
your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:
4. If your pastor
tells you that he is authorized by God to take tithes from you, he’s
lying. The only people God authorized to receive His commanded tithes
are Levites, widows, orphans, and foreigners in Canaan.
Deuteronomy 26:12 When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes
of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast
given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow,
that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled;
5. If your
pastor tells you that as a Christian you are required to tithe every
week of your life, he’s lying. God’s commanded tithes were to be
observed annually, or every third year in a seven year cycle.
Deuteronomy 14:22-26 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy
seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year. And thou shalt eat
before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his
name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and
the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to
fear the LORD thy God always. And if the way be too long for thee, so
that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from
thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when
the LORD thy God hath blessed thee: Then shalt thou turn it into money,
and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which
the LORD thy God shall choose: And thou shalt bestow that money for
whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine,
or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt
eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and
thine household,
Deuteronomy 26:12 When thou hast made an end of
tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the
year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the
fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be
filled;
6. If your pastor tells you the congregation is to tithe
to the House of God, he’s lying. The only people God commanded to
tithe to the House of God are the bloodline descendants of Levi.
Nehemiah 10:37-38 And that we should bring the firstfruits of our
dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine
and of oil, unto the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God;
and the tithes of our ground unto the Levites, that the same Levites
might have the tithes in all the cities of our tillage. And the priest
the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take
tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the
house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house.
7.
If your pastor tells you that your local church building is God’s tithe
storehouse, he’s lying. The only place God said His tithe was to be
taken to was the Temple in Jerusalem.
Deuteronomy 12:10-11 But
when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God
giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies
round about, so that ye dwell in safety; Then there shall be a place
which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there;
thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and
your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and
all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:
2 Chronicles
6:5-6 Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of
Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house
in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler
over my people Israel: But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might
be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.

False Doctrine Prevents Perfection
by Ronald W Robey
(written July 18, 2019)
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction
in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly
furnished unto all good works.
One of the things that Scripture is given to us for is correction. So, what does Scripture say concerning tithes?
a) that they are to come from agricultural crops, flocks, and herds.
Leviticus 27:30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’S: it is holy unto the LORD.
Leviticus 27:32 And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.
b) that a portion of the crops tithe can be redeemed (bought back)
Leviticus 27:31 And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof.
c) that the animal tithe cannot be redeemed (bought back)
Leviticus 27:33 He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.
d) that they are required of the children of Israel.
Leviticus 27:34 These are the commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Sinai.
e) that they are not to be observed until you are a citizen of the land of Canaan.
Deuteronomy 12:10-11 But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety; Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:
f) That the only people God said are eligible to receive
tithes are bloodline descendants of the Levitic tribe, widows, orphans,
and foreigners.
Deuteronomy 26:12 When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled;
g) that the congregation is not to take tithes to the House of God.
Numbers 18:21-22 And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. Neither must the children of Israel henceforth come nigh the tabernacle of the congregation, lest they bear sin, and die.
And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house.
h) that only bloodline descendants of the Levitic tribe are required to tithe to the House of God.
Nehemiah 10:29 They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in God’s law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the LORD our Lord, and his judgments and his statutes;
As
long as you teach that God’s tithe is money, you can never reach
perfection. For you are not allowing the Scriptures to correct you.
All Scripture is given for correction.
As long as you teach that
God’s tithe is to be given in church assemblies outside of the land of
Canaan, you can never reach perfection. For you are not allowing the
Scriptures to correct you. All Scripture is given for correction.
As long as you teach that God requires the congregation to tithe to the
House of God, you can never reach perfection. For you are not allowing
the Scriptures to correct you. All Scripture is given for correction.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
