Educate, Convince, Convict, and Correct

All Scripture is profitable for doctrine, (teaching and learning) for reproof, (convincing and convicting) for correction, (adjusting wrong behavior or beliefs) for instruction (training) in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)

How can one be allowing Scripture to correct him, when he insists God’s tithe is to come from his employment wages/government benefits/household monetary income, yet the Scriptures say that God’s tithe is to come from agricultural increase? How can one be allowing Scripture to correct him, when he insists God’s tithe can be observed in a land outside of Canaan, yet the Scriptures say that tithes are to be taken to Jerusalem in the land of Canaan? Doesn’t sound like Scripture is being allowed to convince, convict, and correct at all.

We are to both learn, and teach, from the Old Testament. However, to teach the Old Testament correctly, one must teach that Scripture says

1) God’s tithe is to be agricultural…

Leviticus 27:30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’S: it is holy unto the LORD.

Leviticus 27:32 And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.

To teach that God’s tithe is to be money is teaching neither Old nor New Testament. For such a doctrine is totally foreign to the pages of both Testaments and actually contradicts both Testaaments.

2) The children of Israel were required to tithe and no other nation…

Leviticus 27:34 These are the commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Sinai.

Psalm 147:19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.
Psalm 147:20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.

To teach that God’s tithe is to be observed by people other than those living in Canaan is teaching neither Old nor New Testament. For such a doctrine is totally foreign to the pages of both Testaments and actually contradicts both Testaaments.

3) Tithing is not to be observed until entering Canaan to live there and finding rest from enemies…

Deuteronomy 12:10 But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety;
Deuteronomy 12:11 Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:

To teach that God’s tithe is to be observed outside of the land of Canaan is teaching neither Old nor New Testament. For such a doctrine is totally foreign to the pages of both Testaments and actually contradicts both Testaaments.

One should not argue that God’s tithe is to be obeyed, and then tithe money. God doesn’t recognize that as obedience to His tithe command at all. One should not argue that God’s tithe is to be obeyed, and then tithe outside of Canaan. God doesn’t recognize that as obedience to His tithe command at all.

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
