God’s Four Required Tithes
by Ronald W Robey

There were four tithes required by God in the Bible:

1. The tithe that God required the congregation give to the Levitic tribe.
note: the congregation was not to take their tithes to the House of God, but to the Levitic tribe. The tithe required by the congregation was the inheritance of the Levitic tribe, not the property of the House of God.

2. The tithe that God required the congregation to eat in Jerusalem.

3. The tithe that God required the congregation to give to the Levitic tribe; to women whose husbands had died; to children whose father had died; and to foreigners visiting the cities in Canaan.

4. The tithe of the tithe that God required of the Levitic tribe. The Levitic trbe was the only tribe in all of Israel that God commanded to take tithes to the House of God.

note: the tithes mentioned in #2&3 above are the same tithe, only observed differently. The third year, the one who normally ate this tithe with his household was not to eat the tithe, but to give the tithe to those mentioned in #3 above.
