Do You Qualify?

Do you qualify to receive God’s commanded tithes? Let’s find out, shall we?

The Bible only names four classes of people that are eligible to receive God’s commanded tithes…

a) the tribe of Levi (Num 18:21-26)

b) women who lost their husbands to death (Deut 26:12-17)

c) children who lost their fathers to death or whose fathers have abandoned them (Deut 26:12-17)

d) foreigners (Deut 26:12-17)

There is an additional prerequisite that must be met in order for any of these four classes of people to be eligible to receive God’s commanded tithes…

Deuteronomy 12:10 But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety;
Deuteronomy 12:11 Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:

…they must be living in the land of Canaan/Israel.

Even if you can prove that you are a biological descendant of the biblical patriarch Levi; even if you are a widow; even if you have no earthly father in your life; even if you are a foreigner…

…if you are not living in the land of Canaan, you are not qualified to receive God’s commanded tithe.

The same applies to your pastor. If he is not living in the land of Canaan, he also is not qualified to receive God’s commanded tithe.

Let’s stay true to the word.
