Get a Job!

In the Bible, the tribe of Levi aka, Levites, were given authority by God to take tithes of the children of Israel aka, the congregation. The Levites were to be given these tithes for two reasons:

1. Because they received no land inheritance among the children of Israel

2. For their service in the Tabernacle/Temple aka, the House of God

Numbers 18:21 And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Numbers 18:22 Neither must the children of Israel henceforth come nigh the tabernacle of the congregation, lest they bear sin, and die.
Numbers 18:23 But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance.
Numbers 18:24 But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.

In post-crucifixion church assemblies, Ministers of the Gospel have no authority to take tithes of their congregations. Why not?

a) Ministers of the Gospel, if saved, have received the same inheritance as the saved members of their congregations…
…eternal life.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Ephesians 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

b) Ministers of the Gospel are to work a job apart from their Ministerial calling to support themelves.

Acts 20:33 I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel.
Acts 20:34 Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.
Acts 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Did they, or didn’t they inherit enternal life when they professed Christ? Weren’t they told to get a job apart from ministering to support themselves?

They have no right taking tithes of anyone. They need to get a job!
