When Realization Sinks In

So many today confuse tithing and giving. They equate them as being the same thing. They believe they have given God his tithe when they pull a five dollar bill out of their wallet that has one hundred dollars in it and drop that five dollar bill in the collection plate during their morning worship service. They have not tithed.

The word “tithe” means “tenth; tenth part.” It is not just a random amount one chooses to give…it is a set amount…

…either the tenth in numerical sequence, (see Lev. 27:32) or the tenth part of a whole. (see Heb. 7:4)

In the Bible, there are only forty-four verses that speak of tithes. Thirty-six of those forty-four verses speak of God’s commanded tithe. Those thirty-six verses tell the reader the following:

a) the ELEMENTS of God’s commanded tithe
b) the GIVERS of God’s commanded tithe
c) the RECIPIENTS of God’s commanded tithe
d) the LOCATION God’s commanded tithe is to be observed
e) the TIMES God’s commanded tithe is to be observed

1. When you compare what God said the elements of His tithe are to be with what is taught in many mainstream church assemblies, you realize that those church assemblies are not preaching the truth.

2. When you compare who God said is commanded to tithe with what is taught in many mainstream church assemblies, you realize that those church assemblies are not preaching the truth.

3. When you compare who God said is to receive His commanded tithe with what is taught in many mainstream church assemblies, you realize that those church assemblies are not preaching the truth.

4. When you compare where God said His commanded tithe is to be observed with what is taught in many mainstream church assemblies, you realize that those church assemblies are not preaching the truth.

5. When you compare when God said His commanded tithe is to be observed with what is taught in many mainstream church assemblies, you realize that those church assemblies are not preaching the truth.

Once you realize the truth, if you are in a church where the truth is not being preached, you have to wonder why are they lying about the tithe?

Is it because they are ignorant of what the Bible says about tithes, or is it because they know the truth but are rebellious and greedy? In either case, once you know truth, you have a responsibility to walk in that truth.
When realization sinks in, you have two options.

1. You can continue to live the lie
2. You can begin to walk in truth

I chose to walk in truth.

Something to consider…

God cannot lie. Nor is God in a lie. His church is built upon the truths written and spoken by the apostles and prophets in His word; Jesus Christ Himself being the Chief Cornerstone. A church built on lies may as well close its doors. God is not in such a church.

Our giving should not be dictated by lies and deceit. Our giving should only be dictated by the love we have for God and for our neighbor.
