That Building is not His House

According to the Bible, there is only one location in the entire Earth that God said His commanded tithe is to be taken to…the city of Jerusalem. Notice:

Deuteronomy 12:10 But WHEN YE GO OVER JORDAN, AND DWELL IN THE LAND WHICH THE LORD YOUR GOD GIVETH YOU TO INHERIT, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety;
Deuteronomy 12:11 THEN THERE SHALL BE A PLACE which the LORD your GOD SHALL CHOOSE TO CAUSE HIS NAME TO DWELL THERE; THITHER YE SHALL BRING all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, YOUR TITHES, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:

Now notice:

2 Chronicles 6:5 Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people Israel:
2 Chronicles 6:6 But I HAVE CHOSEN JERUSALEM, THAT MY NAME SHOULD BE THERE; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.

Now, many may say their local church building is the House of God. But the apostle Paul says,

Acts 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

In the New Covenant the church meets in man’s house…not God’s.

1 Corinthians 16:19 The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with THE CHURCH THAT IS IN THEIR HOUSE.

Colossians 4:15 Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and THE CHURCH WHICH IS IN HIS HOUSE.

God no longer dwells in Temples made with hands. The saved in Christ themselves are now His Temple.

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that YE ARE THE TEMPLE OF GOD, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

God does not require the saved in Christ to bring tithes to “His House.” His House on Earth no longer exists. Instead, He expects us to be aware of needs around us and to help meet those needs when we are able to do so.

1 John 3:17 But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
