The Dark Path of Deception

If we believe the Bible, and we should, tithing has its restrictions and guidelines.

a) the Bible says tithes are to be agriculture and agricultural food by-products. (see Leviticus 27:30,32; Deuteronomy 12:17; 14:22-26) Pastors go outside of these guidelines when they teach that money is to be tithed.

b) the Bible says that the congregation is to take their tithes to Jerusalem. (see Deuteronomy 12:10-11; 2 Chronicles 6:5-6) Pastors go outside of these gidelines when they teach that the congregation is to always bring their tithes to their local church.

c) the Bible says the congregation is not to go near the House of God with their tithes. (see Numbers 18:21-23; reaffirmed in Nehemiah 10:29,37-38) Pastors go outside of these gidelines when they teach that the congregation is to always bring their tithes to their local church.

d) the Bible says the congregation is to give their tithes to bloodline descendants of the biblical patriarch Levi; to Israeli women who have lost their husbands to death; to Israeli children who have lost their fathers to death, or whose fathers have abandoned them; to foreigners in the land of Canaan. (see Numbers 18:21-23; Deuteronomy 14:28-29; 26:12-17) Pastors go outside of these guidelines when they teach that the congregation is not to give tithes anywhere but their local church.

e) the Bible says that God only commanded the children of Israel to tithe. (see Leviticus 27:30-34; Psalms 147:19-20) Pastors go outside of these guidelines when they teach that Christians all over the world are required to tithe.

Psalms 119:105 tells us that God’s word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. Pastors go outside of the Bible to teach a tithe requirement that is found nowhere in the pages of the Bible, thereby taking you away from the illumination of God’s word so that you are walking a dark path of deception.
